1 – Pinnacle Mountain State Park
Opened in 1977, the Pinnacle Mountain State Park serves as a center for education, recreation and preservation. Just west of Arkansas’s capital city of Little Rock, Pinnacle Mountain stands as the centerpiece of this geographically diverse state park.Pinnacle Mountain State Park Website
2 – Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site
This National Park Service site encompasses the campus, but Central High is still an active high school. Visitors should park and begin their visit at the National Park Visitor Center, located diagonally across from the campus, at 2120 W. Daisy Gatson Bates Drive.
The events that transpired at Little Rock Central High School marked this state Civil Rights Movements history.
On September 3, 1957, the desegregation of Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas caught national. attention due to its stand for equality and civil rights movement. Orval his Governor Forbath mobilized the Arkansas National Guard to prevent nine African-American students from being integrated into the high school.
3 – Big Dam Bridge
Elevated up to 90 feet above the Arkansas River, the Big Dam Bridge connects over 14 miles of scenic riverside trails between Little Rock and North Little Rock and is open only to pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
4 – William J. Clinton Presidential Library
The William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park, located on the banks of the Arkansas River in Little Rock, Arkansas, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world to its grounds each year. Opened in 2004, the Center is home to the Little Rock offices of the Clinton Foundation, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.
5 – Riverfront Park
Arguably, one of the best public parks in the country, Little Rock’s Riverfront Park offers an abundance of outdoor activity. Riverfront Park stretches eleven blocks on the south bank of the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock. The Park provides 33 acres of urban parkland for outdoor events, leisure activities and a glimpse of the state’s history. More information visit
